Production Manager (FTC Parental Cover) - Orion
The job has expired.
What we offer
You will be joining a friendly, committed team of production colleagues in a creative and dynamic working environment. This role is based in our London office.
Who we are and what we do
The Orion Publishing Group is one of the UK’s leading publishers. Our mission is to bring the best publishing to the greatest variety of people. Open, agile, passionate and innovative – we believe that everyone will find something they love at Orion. Founded in 1991, the Orion Publishing Group today publishes under six main imprints: Gollancz, the UK’s No1 science fiction and fantasy imprint; Orion Fiction, a heartland for brilliant commercial fiction; Orion Spring, home of wellbeing and health titles written by passionate celebrities and world-renowned experts; Seven Dials, for the very best commercial non-fiction, beautifully designed and produced; Trapeze for commercial fiction and non-fiction books that start conversations; White Rabbit, a new and dynamic list, and Weidenfeld & Nicolson, one of the most prestigious and dynamic literary imprints in British and international publishing.
What you’ll be doing
The position deals specifically with controlling hands on all aspects of the production of titles on the Orion Spring, Seven Dials, White Rabbit and Trapeze imprints, from initial concept through to finished copy delivery. It is a demanding and busy role, covering cost effective, timely and quality production across a wide range of commercial non fiction titles in both mono and colour formats, many with bespoke individual editions. As well as IP projects where speed to market is paramount, these imprints publish Fearne Cotton, The Hairy Bikers, Noel Fitzpatrick, Adam Kaye and many more household names.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who is calm under pressure, is able to be flexible and can respond to the needs of a dynamic publishing team. We need a creative problem solver with an eye for colour, who adds value to each project they work on – someone who is collaborative and good at managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. The workload is busy and varied so the job holder will need to be proactive and self starting, and through many years of experience in a similar environment, will have confidence in dealing with colleagues, costings and excel at maintaining a tight control of budgets and schedules.
