Greenfinch is Quercus’ newest imprint focused on developing commercial non-fiction book ideas, and creating beautiful books that can go on to sell successfully around the world.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be assisting the publisher and the commissioning editor – providing administrative support as well as attending and participating in creative and company meetings. Subject areas of the list include lifestyle, wellness, nature and science, in both b/w and full colour. You will keep close tabs on our metadata, and ensure that all the internal processes for Greenfinch books are kept up to date, as well as liaising with the sales, marketing and publicity departments to provide materials and information on our books. You will be an enthusiastic champion of the Greenfinch list – and be ready to help on all aspects of the publishing process. This is an exciting, varied and creative role within a small supportive team.
Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Publisher, the successful applicant will have strong organisational skills, be highly self-motivated and enthusiastic about pitching in wherever your help is needed. You will need to be comfortable working with Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat. The right candidate will have good commercial awareness, be a keen observer of trends and have a visual eye for good book design. Some experience of publishing is preferred, though not essential.
