Who we are and what we do

This is an exciting opportunity to join the rights department at Hodder & Stoughton, Headline, John Murray Press and Quercus. The Rights team is a team of ten people, and we handle a huge variety of rights across a wide range of genres from US and translation through to film and television and we are defined by both our focus on budgets as well as strong emphasis on author and customer care.   

What you’ll be doing

The position available will involve primarily providing administrative support to the department with a focus on helping us to prepare selling material for our next book fair.

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Rights Director and will need to be a team player with an eye for detail, the ability to use their own initiative and have strong organisational and time-management skills.  You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with our customers and in-house colleagues.  The successful applicant is likely to have some office experience, preferably in publishing or other media organisations.  You will be organised, efficient and able to prioritise your work effectively.
